IEEE International conference on Communication Systems and Network Technologies (CSNT-2016), on March 05-07, 2016 Chitkara University, Punjab organized and successfully hosted international conference on Communication Systems and Network Technologies (CSNT-2016), on March 05-07, 2016. Renowned keynote speakers from international universities were invited. Session chairs were also invited from institution of repute from all over the world and the country. It was attended by more than 110 delegates. Over 150 research papers were presented. The aim of the conference was to bring experts in their fields of electronics and computer engineering from academia and the industry was successfully achieved. Keynote addresses were given by Prof Jorge Barbosa, Brazile, Mr Vipan Kumar, Senior Scientist CSIO, Chandiarh, Dr. Ashraf Samara, Jordan. Mr. Poojan Mitra, Technical manager (CISCO) was invited as Guest of honour. Mr. Suman Jolly, Managing Director, Recorders & Medicare Systems Pvt. Ltd. (An Indian MNC) a self technology entrepreneur of the seventies honoured the conference by being the Chief Guest and sharing his vast experience of research and industrial leadership. His presence shall motivate and inspire the delegates by showcasing the achievements of Recorders and Medicare Systems in the domain of healthcare critical medical electronics instruments.

International Conference cum Training Workshop on ‘Filling The Gaps: World Heritage And The 20th Century’ An International Conference and Training Programme was organized at Chitkara School of Planning and Architecture (CSPA) along with National Institute Of Advanced Studies In Architecture- Pune (NIASA), from 03-07 October 2013. The objective of this 5-day programme is, thus, to promote an understanding of the significance of twentieth century heritage, not only of its physical and visual attributes, but also its historical, cultural and social dimensions. The Programme was designed into two parts: International Conference and hands-on Training Workshop.The first half comprising of a series of well-illustrated lectures on four themes representing key issues of conserving 20th Century Heritage -- Evaluation, Intervention, Management of Change, and, a special focus on twentieth-century Historic Urban Landscapes. Each of these thematic sessions were be structured around an overview on the theme by an invited specialist, presentation of selected papers, as well as discussions for a rich exchange of experiences and approaches. In addition, poster displays on conference themes enabled sharing of lessons learnt in diverse territories of the twentieth-century heritage.

The programme also aimed to examine the scope and the challenges of managing this recent heritage within the framework of the World Heritage regime. The fact that the event was a roaring success can be gauged from the fact that it had the largest ever gathering of foreign and Indian participants and experts drawn from 22 countries across the world. The conference experienced gathering of many international experts in the field of Business Management from China, Dubai, Mauritius, USA, UK, Phillipines, Korea, Taiwan etc. Dr. Kiran Mehta and Dr. Renuka Sharma, faculty, CBS received outstanding paper award. Award is selected out of 79 papers submitted for the conference from around the world. International Conference on Recent Trends in Nuclear Physics The first International Conference on Recent Trends in Nuclear Physics-2012 (ICRTNP-2012) was held at the Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh from Nov.19-21, 2012. More than 100 researchers from India and abroad participated in the Conference. The various aspects of nuclear physics were discussed in the conference. All these sessions were spread over three equally intense and productive days. `Speech Image biomedical & Information Processing ‘(SIBIP-2012)’ An International Conference `Speech Image biomedical & Information Processing ‘(SIBIP-2012)’ was organized on November 1-2, 2012, in association with IETE sponsored by CSIR India along with several electronic industrial houses. The conference was convened by Prof. Shivani Malhotra and Prof. Harsimranjit Kaur of Electronics and Communication Engineering Deptt. of Chitkara University Punjab. In all 67 papers were selected after review for publications in the proceedings of the Conference . The conference was inaugurated by an eminent technologist Dr. C. P. Ravikumar, Director, University Relations, Texas Instruments (India). Dr. Amod Kumar scientist G(CSIO) delivered the keynote address. There were invited talks delivered by technology experts from Texas Instruments India, Cranes Software, CSIO and NITTTR. Hands-on workshops on `Finger Print Development usingTMS320C5515’ by Mr. Malesh VS from Cranes software International limited were conducted as part of conference. In addition, electronic products were exhibited by industries, and. About 70 delegates attended the conference spread over two days. Forty-three papers were presented in six technical sessions. In short, two-day deliberations turned out to be unique platform for researchers and engineers to share their experiences and research results about all aspects of signal processing. It further helped them to discuss practical challenges encountered and the methods adopted to overcome them. Nanoscience fundamentals & Applications (NCNFA, 2011) The primary objective of the conference “The National Conference on Nanoscience fundamentals & Applications (NCNFA, 2011), July 23-24, 2011” was to explore the current research being carried out in nanoscience and highlights the diverge area where nanoscience is applicable. Both fundamental and applied aspects of the Nanoscience were covered in various technical sessions (oral and poster presentations) and other informal discussions. The conference covered broad range of topics like various synthesizing techniques, morphology structure, optical/thermal properties and applications in opto-electronics, sensors, medical, chemical and environmental protection. In addition the conference also covered the safety aspect of indiscriminate use of the nanotechnology. The conference has received overwhelming response from international and national research scholars, and professionals. Over 300 papers covering the main themes of the conference were received electronically. The papers published in these proceedings and to be presented during the conference were selected after a thorough review process. The papers were selected on the basis of originality, clarity and relevance to the theme of the conference. The conference aims to provide a platform for faculty, researchers and designers from academia and industry to present their research ideas, share their experiences, and challenges in the field of Computing, and Artificial Intelligence. The Conference program will include invited lectures by experts in the field. The program will favor interaction amongst participants, who belong to different areas both professionally-academics, research, industry and geographically.A number of expert talks were organized in the conference by the dignitaries in the field of Computing and Artificial Intelligence; some of them were through skype. Workshop on Data Mining was oeganized under ACAI 2011. Dr. Anil Verma And Dr. Maninder Singh from Thapar University, Patiala delivered expert lectures on the theme. Delegates were introduced to the tool WEKA and Microsoft Office 2010 which includes the features of Data Mining in MS-excel itself. A demonstration of the tool was also given to the delegates. At last the security issues related to Data Mining were also discussed.

`Wireless Networks and Embedded Systems (WECON-2011)’ A 3rd International Conference `Wireless Networks and Embedded Systems (WECON-2011)’ was organized on July 18-19, 2011, in association with George Brown College Canada and sponsored by several electronic industrial houses. The conference was convened by Prof. Rajvir Singh of Electronics and Communication Engineering Deptt. of Chitkara University Punjab. Over 230 papers covering the theme of the conference were received. After a thorough review process, 55 papers were selected to be published in the proceedings and to be presented during the conference. The conference was inaugurated by Prof. Rabi Mahapatra, Director, Embedded System Codesign Group, Deptt. of Computer Science & Engineering, Texas A&M University, USA. Prof. Jorge Olenewa of George Brown College Canada delivered the keynote address titled “Its a Wireless World”. Another eminent guest, Prof. P.R. Kumar (Franklin Woeltge Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering, and Research Professor, Coordinated Science Lab, Univ. of Illinois, USA) delibrated on the topic of “Cyber Physical Systems” in his expert talk . The expert talks were followed by paper presentations spread over five different venues that were chaired by the invited guests along with Dr. C Ramakrishna (NITTTR, Chd.) and Dr. Amod Kumar (Scientist-G, CSIO, Chd.).

Second day of the conference started with a two-day (19th to 20th July, 2011) symposium on “RF Data Communications and Wi-Fi” conducted by Prof. Jorge Olenewa. In addition, a five-day (Indo US Collaboration for Engineering Education) IUCEE workshop on the topic of “Embedded System Design” was conducted by Prof. Rabi Mahapatra for the faculty members of the IUCEE consortium colleges from 19th to 23rd July, 2011.Chitkara University Publications

`Wireless Networks and Embedded Systems (NCADSP-2010)’ A national Conference `Wireless Networks and Embedded Systems (NCADSP-2010)’ was organized on October 22-23, 2010. The conference was convened by Prof. Shivani Malhotra Electronics and Communication Engineering Department of Chitkara University Punjab. In all 53 papers were selected after review for publications in the proceedings of the Conference in. The conference was inaugurated by an eminent technologist Dr. Raghbir Singh Khandpur Director General, Pushpa Gujral Science City, Kapurthala. Dr. T.S Lamba Dean (A&R), Jaypee University of Information Technology, Waknaghat gave a keynote address on emerging technologies in signal processing. There were three invited talks delivered by technology experts from JP University, CSIO and NITTTR. Hands-on workshops on `Lab VIEW’ by Karun Jain from National Instruments India was conducted as part of the conference. In addition, electronic products were exhibited by industries, and a competition `Teckniki’ on digital poster presentations related to the themes of the conference was also held for engineering students. About 50 delegates attended the conference spread over two days. Forty one papers were presented in four technical sessions. A cultural programme `SAANJH’ was organized on the evening of October 22, 2010 in the campus for the participants.
